Hello Kitty and Sanrio fans out there, this is definitely interesting for you, so keep reading!
I’m sure that some of you have heard of Himeji in Hyogo Prefecture (map). After all it houses one of the most beautiful Japanese castles. It was also shooting location for “The Last Samurai”. It can be easily done as a day trip from Kyoto or Osaka, so if you ever decide to go to Himeji, you should also drop by “Cafe de Miki”!

 
Where to find the Hello Kitty Cafe in Himeji
The cafe can be found very easily. It’s actually on the way from JR Himeji Station to the castle.

Just don’t walk on the main road, but instead through the small shopping arcade right of the main road. You won’t miss it.

I’ve been to Himeji several times and so I’ve also been to this cafe many times. I’m not a huge Hello Kitty fan, but yet I really enjoyed it.
 
The Interior of “Cafe de Miki”
As you can see they put a lot of effort into the details. The interior is mainly pink, of course. And Hello Kitty fans won’t be disappointed as you’ll find Kitty-chan almost in each and every corner.

The cafe is called “Café de Miki”, but from the name alone one can’t tell it’s all about Hello Kitty. So, they usually display it as “Café de Miki with Hello Kitty”. ;)

While you can also sit down in the first floor, I recommend checking out the second floor.
