Travel Smart with JR East Group Rail Passes
JR East has a great variety of value rail passes for foreign visitors to take advantage of travelling around Japan in a convenient and economical manner. The passes provide unlimited travel for overseas visitors to Japan, and while all may be purchased in Japan, some may be purchased abroad as well. Passes are available only for foreign nationals and holders of non-Japanese passports who have entered Japan with a “Temporary Visitor” visa and will stay in Japan for no longer than 90 days.
We’ll focus here on four passes: the JR TOKYO Wide Pass, the JR East Pass (Tohoku area), the JR East Pass (Nagano + Niigata area), and JR East + JR West Tokyo-Osaka Hokuriku Arch Pass. All passes have no black-out dates, beginning with their respective periods of use.
JR TOKYO Wide Pass (Kanto area) 10,000 yen lets pass holders enjoy 3 consecutive days of unlimited travel on the Shinkansen High-Speed Rail and limited express trains within the valid area. Great for visiting popular Kanto tourist destinations in the Kanto area such as Mt. Fuji, Izu, Karuizawa, GALA Yuzawa and more.
Validity Period: 3 consecutive days

Adults (12 years and older) ? 10,000 yen
Children (6-11 years) ? 5,000 yen
Requirements: Customers must be foreign nationals with a foreign passport
