Studying Japanese in Japan – find your language school!
April is the start of the new school year in Japan, boys and girls as well as students will discover their new classmates, teachers and studies.
April is also the start of a new term in the majority of Japanese Language Schools. Usually the new terms start in January, April, July and October. Despite the recent events in Japan, the Japanese Language Schools have continued to teach ‘Nihongo’ to their foreigners students. For example at the school I am attending, we had a meeting on Monday just after the week end of the earthquake and tsunami, it was good to meet all of my colleges as well as the teachers. The lessons started again the same day. Some of the students have left Japan for the spring holidays and will come back at the end of this week for the new term. Maybe some of you have planned to start a Japanese Language School here in Tokyo from this month and are still hesitating to come over here. Each school provides regular information to its students, and for those preferring to delay the start of the school the Japan government has extended the Certificate of Eligibility to the end of August 2011, which means that you will be able to start your school from the next July term without applying a second time for a student visa.
There is a large number of Japanese Language Schools in Tokyo, here is a short list of schools by Ku which provide information in English on their website:
