The 2017 Sapporo Snow Festival will showcase a huge selection of impressive snow sculptures as always, but this year there's one that will be a real treat for gamers: Final Fantasy VII!
Titled "Decisive Battle! Final Fantasy in Snow", the sculpture at the Odori 4-chome Site will carve out a battle scene between Sephiroth and a Buster Sword-wielding Cloud, and will be the first in the history of the Sapporo Snow Festival to incorporate the latest Hi-Res audio 7.1ch surround sound system. At night from 5pm to 10pm, fans can also look forward to an original 3D projection mapping of images from FFVII Advent Children and the upcoming Remake.
A worldwide smash hit when it was released 20 years ago, Final Fantasy VII became the best-selling title in the franchise with over 11 million units sold, firmly establishing itself as a staple in the household of many 90s kids.
With January 31st 2017 marking 20 years exactly since the initial release of FFVII in Japan, Square Enix has confirmed it is fully remaking FFVII for the PS4...
