Japan offers enjoyment of each of the four seasons. In autumn, there are a lot of beautiful colored leaves in the park. One of the famous spot to appreciating autumn leaves in Tokyo is Meiji Jingu Gaien Park.
Especially the street called “gingko-lined road” , 300m long, starting from Aoyama-Itchome station (Ginza line, Hanzomon line and Oedo line) is a must-see.
You feel great walking under the tunnel of brilliant golden color foliage made by 146 of gingko trees. The view against Meiji Memorial Picture Gallery is spectacular and this view may be the one you have ever seen.
There is a Gingko Festival held every year which usually starts in middle of November and ends in middle of December.
Significant congestion is expected on weekend. You can grab food at the food booths which are temporary opened during festival season.
There are less people on weekdays, you can sit down on the bench and enjoy relaxing leisure time under the clear autumn sky.
Having lunch at Kihachi restaurant is recommended where you can watch gingko-lined road from out side table while having scrumptious casual French.
Meiji Jingu Gaien Park has a various sports facilities such as Jingu Stadium, golf driving range and ice skating rink etc..many people come to jogging and walking.
